2D DESIGN & TYPOGRAPHY
During my time at college, I discovered different ways to use typography and design to convey depth and meaning within my works.
This collection is a mix of digital work done in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and traditional pieces using a variety of mediums, such as paint, oils, pastels, construction paper, and ink.

While attending college, we were instructed to create a poster for the upcoming trip to Great America in Santa Clara, CA. I asked friends and colleagues to submit their thoughts and general ideas about theme parks. I used their voices as the background text to give the image more depth while still keeping the “carnival” first impression with the main text. I also made sure to still portray the vital information to the viewer, such as the address, and admission details.
Using a simple question, I sought out to create a piece that would give the viewer different perspective. I asked my friends and family to anonymously submit responses to “What if you ran away” and used these stories and thoughts at the background to my piece. My goal was to give depth to this question and connect the viewer with the thoughts that were portrayed in order to create a deeper connect with the viewer.
This was the first pass at a “design” influenced self portrait.
